Cascara, a.k.a “husk,” “peel,” or “skin” in Spanish, is the dried shell of the coffee cherries. It is not quite coffee, but it is not exactly tea either. Maybe it’s the best of both worlds. Even the strongest brew of cascara tea only has 1/4 of the caffeine compared to that of coffee. Although cascara comes from coffee plant, it doesn’t taste anything like coffee.
